MEDICAL MANAGEMENT
The goal of drug therapy is to maximize benefits while minimizing adverse side effects. Many patients will need a combination of medications to obtain the best results.
We use four methods to deliver drug therapy: Oral (pills), transdermal (by skin), transmucosal (by the lining of the mouth) and intrathecal (by spinal-cord fluid)>
MEDICATIONS WE ADMINISTER INCLUDE:
Anti-depressants
Opiods
Anti-convulsants
Muscle relaxants
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatories (NSAIDS)
Interventional Treatment
Interventional medicine is an exciting specialty because new technology is introducing more treatment options than ever before, it is based on evidence that pain sometimes can be treated at its very source.
Procedures are performed that interrupt the pain pathway, thus reducing the pain production or transmission. Some innovations include radiofrequency neurotomies, spinal cord stimulation (SCS), intraspinal delivery systems and minimally invasive intradiscal therapies. Such therapies are surgical procedures.
